Derek Smith honed his business relationship skills in the advertising industry, initially with Leo Burnett, then Ted Bates and Grey Worldwide.

He directed the advertising and marketing activities of leading multi-national corporations including Kraft General Foods, Maple Leaf Foods, Nestle, Procter & Gamble and Warner-Lambert. It was in the role of Director of Client Services where he became wholly aware of the imperative of strong business relationships.

Throughout this time, he helped introduce over forty new products and product line extensions; and he was elected to the Executive Management Group of two agencies.

He went on to build a consultancy specializing in strategic planning and corporate communications, where he worked with recognized companies in Canada and the US.

His focus now is on exclusively offering Business Relationship Audits to the world of business.
